Casper “Casey” Michael Chernenkoff, after a lengthy illness, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Valleyview Care Centre on Friday, April 24, 2020 at the age of 91 years. He was predeceased by brothers John, Alex and Mike and is survived by daughters Linda (Bob) Chernenkoff, Ellen (Terry) Duncalfe, Val (Scott) Smith and granddaughters Caitlin (Dan) Clearwater and Ashton (Justin) Rowe.

Casey lived an active life; he was an avid reader of biographies and world issues and enjoyed discussing politics and historical events. He loved to cook and was a fan of many sports, particularly hockey and baseball. He encouraged his daughters to pursue academic and athletic interests and was always proud of their achievements.

The family wishes to thank the staff of 300 at the Assiniboine Centre, along with staff at the Valleyview Care Centre in Brandon for their excellent care, kindness and support. In keeping with his wishes, a private family gathering will take place this summer.

“And so he will rest his weary heart and he will find peace and this will comfort us all.”

Just saw of Casey's passing. I was thinking of Casey the other day and here I find that he has passed on. My deepest condolences to the family He was a generous man and when around Rivers always popped in for a visit and have a meal with us....usually goes home with a container of borscht. A real friend and will be missed. Rest in Peace Casey.

My sincere condolences to the family. Casey was a wonderful neighbour who always loved to visit. He kept in touch with me for many years after I had moved. I’ll fondly remember him. A golden heart laid to rest.

My sincere condolences to Casey's family. I have known Casey for many years through my place of business. He often dropped by to say hello letting people know how long he has known me and how am I doing and if I am not too busy maybe I can help him out, I have a project for you. He will be missed.
