Obituary for Casper Michael Chernenkoff
Casper “Casey” Michael Chernenkoff, after a lengthy illness, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Valleyview Care Centre on Friday, April 24, 2020 at the age of 91 years. He was predeceased by brothers John, Alex and Mike and is survived by daughters Linda (Bob) Chernenkoff, Ellen (Terry) Duncalfe, Val (Scott) Smith and granddaughters Caitlin (Dan) Clearwater and Ashton (Justin) Rowe.
Casey lived an active life; he was an avid reader of biographies and world issues and enjoyed discussing politics and historical events. He loved to cook and was a fan of many sports, particularly hockey and baseball. He encouraged his daughters to pursue academic and athletic interests and was always proud of their achievements.
The family wishes to thank the staff of 300 at the Assiniboine Centre, along with staff at the Valleyview Care Centre in Brandon for their excellent care, kindness and support. In keeping with his wishes, a private family gathering will take place this summer.
