Darrell was born on June 9 and attended school in Griswold, Oak Lake and Virden. For many years now, he told anyone who asked that he was 29 years old. He spent several years in Winnipeg before moving to Calgary, where his love of people and all things musical made him a well-known neighbourhood figure. The annual stampede breakfast at “Rock Central” was a Victoria Park institution for 12 years. Darrell returned to Brandon in 2006 and became a familiar face around town, working at the Keg, CanadInn and Humpty’s, and was a regular at local auctions and thrift stores.
Darrell was an outgoing individual who had a natural curiosity about many things. He loved to take things apart to see how they worked and to challenge people to see how they thought.
