We send our deepest condolences to you and your family, from all your relatives in Germany. I remember when I visited you and Edna in Canada in 1992 - it was such a great experience and I felt right at home. Thank you for your hospitality, and of course Edna's self-baked bread was the best!

Love,

Our family's deepest condolences are with you, Ed, and your lovely family. I have fond memories of you and Edna holding hands in church and so admired Edna's steadfast service to the Lord, even as her health was failing. We will always remember fondly Edna's amazing baking skills and her generous spirit.

The summer after my mom passed away and I was 7, Edna was 8, and my sister and I were at the farm in Winnipegosi, Edna and I wandered into the pasture. There we hunted for Lady, the very kindly work horse. We somehow managed to climb on her back, no halter or bridle, bareback of course, and off Lady went along a trail. There were a few trees here and there and Lady walked under a very low hanging branch. In no time flat we'd been swept off her rump and onto the ground. No doubt, Lady turned and looked at us , either in surprise --the branch hadn't bothered her--or in a tease! We didn't venture that one again! That summer was the first memory I have of eating mushrooms. Aunt Lee sent us into the pasture to pick them and fried them up for dinner. I have many wonderful memories with Edna on the farm.
