Obituary for Jackie Sneesby

Eleanor Jacqueline “Jackie” Sneesby
February 12, 1943 – January 17, 2023

Jackie passed away after a brief struggle and will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her. Jackie is survived by her husband Gerry; sons Kevin (Terri) and Bryce (Paige); granddaughters Lauren and Danielle; and siblings Kerry, James and Susan.

Jackie lived life to the fullest and was able to travel the world, as she loved to do, with Gerry, her boys and friends. Jackie loved and was proud of her work in the travel industry, especially at Air Canada, where she excelled and made significant contributions.

Jackie had many friends that she met over the years, growing up in St. James, raising a family in River Heights, involved in politics at all levels, from the Winter Club and through her many volunteer activities. Jackie volunteered for decades and sat on the boards of many organizations including the Cancer Society, Art Gallery, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Liberal Party, Manitoba Theatre for Young People and Women’s Employment Counseling Service.

Whether acting as a school board trustee, a friend or a friendly ear, Jackie helped others, lent a helping hand and an opinion

The Celebration of Jackie’s Life will be held at the Winnipeg Winter Club, 200 River Avenue, Winnipeg on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a time of reflection at 2:30 p.m.

Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Jackie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 185 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
