Obituary for Evelyn Isabell Phyllis Webber

WEBBER: Evelyn Isabell Phyllis. It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our mother at Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. She is now reunited with our dad, Jack, who passed away in 1982. Born Wednesday, January 2, 1924 in Brandon, Mom began working at the early age of 15 years at Rumfords Dry Cleaners (later became Perth’s) and was an employee there for over 40 years. Mom loved travelling and together with Dad travelled to BC, visiting family in Calgary then onto Vancouver Island to visit dad’s family. They travelled to Disneyland in California and other areas of the United States with family. After Dad’s passing, Mom went on a bus tour with her sister-in-law Emma to the East Coast, after which, she would say she travelled all of Canada. Mom’s greatest joys were knitting baby outfits for her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friends. She also knitted many baby sweaters for the hospital gift store. She crocheted many doily sets for family and friends. Mom made a beautiful lace tablecloth for her daughter’s dining room table after Dad passed to help pass her evenings. Mom had a cabin at Oak Lake Beach and after Dad’s passing, she got her driver’s license and drove herself to the lake. Mom always had a beautiful smile for everyone and a great sense of humour. She enjoyed walking every day with her best friend (sister-in-law) Joyce Stanley at either the Keystone Centre or the Discovery Centre, stopping after at McDonalds for coffee and visits. Her joys in life were spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was able to see them all graduate and was so proud. Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Dianne (Gary) Little; son Bryan Webber; granddaughter Bonnie-Lynn (Josh) Randall, great grandchildren Jackson and Mackenzie; granddaughter Brooke and partner Jordan Glover and grandson Bryce Webber and their mother Tracy Webber; a special niece Myrna Johnson of Calgary; sisters-in-law Ann Stanley of Trail, BC, Joyce Stanley of Brandon, Mildred Hoffman, Marguerite Frame and Maureen Sepella; brothers-in-law George (Agnes) Webber, Reg (Tina) Webber of BC and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, parents Oliver and Jenny Stanley, brothers Ollie (Emma) Stanley, Bert Stanley, Russell (Helen) Stanley, Gerald Stanley, John (Sylvia) Stanley and Ernie Stanley and sister Vivian (Robert) Adams. The Funeral Service was held at Memories Chapel on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. We would like to thank Greg Hildebrand and Lawana Spratt of Memories Chapel for all you did for us at this difficult time. Also, a big thank you to Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home staff for all the kindness and love you showed our mom, she is now at peace. Thank you for the gifts of flowers and cards sent to our home and a big thank you to Colin and Lorrie Snelgrove for supper the day of the funeral and Precision Toyota for the vehicles. Donations can be made the Brandon Humane Society, 2200 – 17th Street East, Brandon, MB R7A 7M6 in honour of our mom.
