Obituary for Florence Muriel Perks

PERKS: Florence Muriel (nee Nicholls), passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Calvary Place in Winnipeg. She leaves behind her daughter Donna Neuschwander (Agabus), her son John Perks (Qingwen) and granddaughters Riananne Guillotte (Jeremy) and Madelaine Guillotte (Travis), as well as her sister Evelyn Rouke and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mom, please don’t worry about us anymore; we will be fine, after all, you raised us well. You taught us clean bodies, clothes, house and minds. You showed us to follow our passion and fearlessness, as you worked hard to become your dream, as a nurse in Toronto far from your home in Brandon. Your career showed us how important care, compassion, respect of others and hard work is in life. You showed us fiscal responsibility but leaving a little to gamble like your beloved bingo. You made us independent, have moral convictions, to include politics in our lives and your passion for reading. You showed us that marriage means weathering the storms and celebrating the sunny weather. You showed us with dad to be faithful, loyal and kind, but tell it like it is. We thank you for all you taught us and most of all for the love you gave us. We will hold you in our hearts all our lives until we are with you again. Mom goes to be with her husband John, her mother Maisie and father Ed, brothers Fraser, Eddy, Gorden, Lorney and sisters Lillian, Freda, Ethel, Clara and Eva. The graveside service to celebrate Florence’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Jonathan Hoskin will officiate. Donations in memory of Florence may be made to Hobbs Manor, 333 – 15th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 4V8. In her memory we wish you to reach out, in such unsure and lonely times, to loved ones and celebrate your love for each other. Mom would have liked that.
