Obituary for Gorman Tiller Orsted

ORSTED: Gorman Tiller, formerly of Fertile, SK, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre.

Gorman was deeply loved and will be forever remembered by his wife of 65 years, Anita; four daughters: Deborah (Ken Forsyth), Brenda (Pierre Boutin), Marcia Gervais (Colin Pottie), Joanne Orsted; six grandchildren: Nicholas Forsyth (Britney; children Mardee, Hudson, Drew), Maria Forsyth (children Jack, Heath McMurdo), Kristy Howse (Brett; children Jenson, Sage), Ryan Gervais, Nigel Gervais (Nicole; children Zadie, Karsyn, Tenley), Troy Gervais (Bailey, children Luke, Annika); one brother: Morley Orsted (Helen); two sisters-in-law: Doreen Orsted, Linda Wilvers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gorman was predeceased by his infant son Dale Joseph Orsted; son-in-law Noel Gervais; parents Glenn and Margaret Orsted; three brothers: Lloyd Orsted, Harvey Orsted, Malcolm Orsted; and three sisters-in-law: Jean Orsted, Beatrice Orsted, Adeline Orsted.

Gorman was a gentle man, and a gentleman. He cherished the life that he and Anita built. He was proud of his noble profession as a farmer, he enjoyed serving his community, and he took time for fun with family, neighbours, and friends. Gorman was a “People Person”. He began each day in a good mood. He was physically and intellectually active, a man in constant motion. Hard work was something to look forward to. Our hearts are sorely heavy at the loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a very big part of our lives, even as age and illness progressed. He remained “Gorman, Dad, Grandpa” till the end.

The Celebration of Gorman’s Life will take place at Memories Chapel, 330 – 18th Street North, Brandon on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Barb Sitter officiating. For those not able to attend in person, the service will be webcast on Gorman’s memorial page at www.memorieschapel.com.
