ASHTON: Heather Christena (nee Marr), age 67 years, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Heather was born October 17, 1953 in Gainsborough, SK and was active in Church, Choir, CGIT and school. She completed her schooling in Gainsborough, then attended Assiniboine Community College in Brandon. Heather went on to work in secretarial and receptionist positions before finding her niche in retail at Stylerite Hardware, Woolco and Walmart. She enjoyed being a member of TOPS, Silver Links (Walmart retirees), swimming at the Sportsplex, reading, making photo albums and evening walks. Travelling was a highlight for Heather; to Florida and Ontario when the boys were younger; and later trips to visit her grandchildren in B.C. and vacationing with Ivan to Las Vegas, Cuba, Mexico and other beach destinations. Heather will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ivan; son Colin (Lindsey) and grandchildren Austin and Brayden; son Dean (Regan); brother Don (Leslie) Marr; sisters-in-law Bev (Mark) Bok and Barb (Dave) Cunningham; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Dorothy Marr. The family will cherish Heather’s memory in a private graveside service.
