Obituary for Irene Isabel Brown
Irene Isabel Brown passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2021.
Mom was born in the District of Reeve near Kelwood, Manitoba with the help of a midwife on May 4, 1941 to Fred and Margaret Kaye. She grew up in the country and worked in small towns most of her life. She married dad (Morris Brown) on January 6, 1961 and had three daughters. Dad passed away in 1976 and Mom raised us while working at Clear Lake and Erickson. Mom lived in Brandon for several years after we left home, but always missed the country and small town life.
Mom had a strong quiet way about her and worked hard all her life while putting others before herself.
Irene is survived by her daughters: Valerie Rounds, Beverly Brown & family, Thelma Brown and family; and her sisters Connie, Bernice, Mabel and Florence, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband Morris, parents, sister Myrtle, brother Nelson, and nephews Dwight and Floyd.
A private family graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Crawford Park Cemetery where we laid mom to rest next to dad.
