Obituary for Jacqueline June "Jackie" Geiler
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Jacqueline “Jackie” June Geiler of Brandon on Sunday, July 19, 2020.
Mom was born in Brandon on June 17, 1929 to John and Louisa Roberts. She was raised in Brandon and resided in Brandon all her life. Mom married Dad, Bill Geiler (deceased) on February 7, 1948 and they celebrated 53 years together. Mom’s world was her family. She was a devoted Mom and Grandma through her lifetime. She was dedicated to raising her family and always made sure we were well taken care of with lots of love and fun. We have cherished memories of Mom as she gave us such warm hearts and smiles. As a Grandma, she adored and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She gave her heart to them and they all felt her love. Her time with them was as special to them as it was to her. They all have such good memories with her full of laughter and good times.
Mom was very creative and not afraid of any challenge. She had a knack for making whatever she did in the house look like a room out of a decorating magazine. This often required painting and wallpapering, but also included recovering the chesterfield and painting the fireplace and the wood panels on the TV orange so they would match. She was very creative at sewing, which allowed her to match her outfits with her jewelry and shoes. Mom was an accomplished and respected curler and loved to golf, travel, and line dance. She especially enjoyed her time with the fine ladies of the Red Hat Society. Crosswords, reading the newspaper, watching curling, and reading books were a few of her favorite activities. Everyone will remember her wonderful laugh. After raising her children, she worked at Sweet 16 dress store, Coles Bookstore, and the Brandon Library. She was proud when she passed the real estate license and became a real estate saleswoman.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Linda Church (Barry), Phil, and Nancy Beal (Jeff); grandchildren: Debbie, Lonnie, Jonathon, Jeffrey, and Jud; and nine great grandchildren: Joel, Amara, Mia, Declan, Annie, Rowan, Zac, Dani, and Quinn. Mom was also very close to her niece Ellen Carignan, who spent a lot of time with Mom.
Thank you to Dr. Duncan, Mavis and Cindy for all your help with Mom. Thank you to Riverheights Terrace for making Mom feel at home. We all heard how wonderful you were with her. Thank you to the Brandon Regional Health Centre for making Mom feel comfortable in her final days.
She was dearly loved and will be sadly missed.
