James William Shelvey, age 75 years, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Born on July 12, 1944 in Brandon, James was raised on a farm in the Forrest area with his parents and two sisters. With an interest in woodworking and being a do-it-yourself master, it was clear carpentry was a natural fit for him. James enjoyed playing baseball, card games, and curling. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching football, wrestling, baseball, curling and hockey including the Wheat Kings as a lifetime season ticket holder. James was predeceased by his parents George Richard and Dora Shelvey and sister Phyllis. He will be missed by his wife Linda; sons Paul (Terri), Ryan (Rachelle) and Derek; grandchildren Dylan, Marcus and Emily; sister Elaine (Garth) and several nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be planned at a later date when it is safe to gather together. Announcement of Service details will follow at that time. Flowers are gratefully declined.
