Obituary for Jason Sigurdson

SIGURDSON: Jason, age 47 years, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Jason was born on September 19, 1974 at Edmonton, Alberta. Jason grew up in Winnipeg before moving to Brandon when he was 16 years old. He received his education at St. Charles Academy, Winnipeg, Neelin School, Brandon and Shaftsbury School, Winnipeg. His first job was working at a fish lodge, followed by training for hairdressing and worked at this in Winnipeg. After moving to Brandon, Jason worked at Interior Images, travelling all over the US and Canada, doing a fantastic job. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and loved spending time with his kids, nieces and nephews - taking them to the sand dunes in Brandon Hills. He also loved music, cross country skiing, swimming, tri-athalons, long distance running, road and mountain biking – winning many awards throughout the years. He will be forever missed. Jay is survived by his children Ellis, Jack, Eva and their mother Michelle and her daughter Kaya, mother Candace, father Brian (Corrine Martin), sister Colleen (Ken) English, niece Kaolia English, brother Sean (Katrina), nephews Finn and Grey. Jason was predeceased by Bea Sigurdson, Snjolfur Sigurdson, Phyllis Syme, Jim Syme, Rita Ritchot. The Funeral Service will take place at Memories Chapel, 330 – 18th Street North, on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. John Okosun officiating.
