Obituary for Jules Emile Vallaey

The family is sad to announce the death of Jules Vallaey which occurred at Victoria Hospital on Sunday, March 13th, 2022. Jules was born in St. Boniface on November 12, 1929 to Albert and Aurora. He grew up in St. Boniface and was active in hockey, golf, skiing and curling. In 1954, he married the love of his life and best friend Louise (Van De Weghe).

He worked for Remington Rand as a typewriter repairman and was transferred to Brandon in 1957. After leaving Remington Rand, he worked for Shearer Business Machines which was later purchased by McClure-Van Achte Limited. He retired at Christmas in 1990.

Jules and Louise loved to travel. As a family they enjoyed camping with their trailer. Snowmobiling with the boys was another adventure. They loved to dance, especially the jitterbug. They enjoyed playing cards and entertaining when family or friends came to visit. Jules especially enjoyed cribbage and canasta. After the kids were grown and left home, they enjoyed travels to Las Vegas, Loughlin, Lake Havasu, California and Mexico. Golf was always a favourite pastime for Jules.

His later years in life were spent at Dakota House in Winnipeg where he met many new friends and kept active with Wii bowling, cards, bingo and other activities. He especially enjoyed the entertainment that was brought in for the residents. Many thanks to his special friend Jean for her friendship and support during his time there.

Jules leaves to mourn his passing his sister-in-law Margaret Payjack, his special friend Jean as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Louise of 57 years, his sons Dennis and Randy and parents Albert and Aurora.
