It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lori Diane Hiebert (nee Vogt), age 57 years, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Lori was predeceased by her parents Ray and Ada and her sister Charlene. She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband of 35 years, Calvin; her three daughters Teresa Birmingham (Shawn), Kim Hiebert (Nick Rawlings) and Sharie Hiebert; and her three precious granddaughters Jazlynn, Bella and Norah. Also left to cherish their memories are Uncle Vic Hiebert; and Richard and Sandra Buhler who have been extra special throughout her life and especially during these last few months.
Lori was born on September 27, 1962 to Ray and Ada Vogt. Lori’s favorite childhood memories included spending time with Auntie Ethel and Uncle Harvey, especially fishing trips to The Pas and camping. In 1984, Lori married Calvin, the love of her life and in 1987, they welcomed their first baby girl, Teresa Anne. In the following years they welcomed two more daughters, Kimberly Dawn (1990) and Sharie Nicole (1992).
Lori had great pride in her 35-year career at Safeway, beginning as a cashier and progressing to Bakery Manager. She enjoyed her flowers and gardening, knitting, nights at the table playing cards with friends, camping, road trips and Sunday drives with Calvin, and attending any and every extracurricular activity for her children and grandchildren. Lori’s three girls were her pride and joy and her feelings for her three granddaughters were beyond pride; she loved them all so deeply. Her two sons-in-law were also very special to her. She was so happy her girls had found their soulmates.
Lori spent far too much time in the hospital for her liking during the last few months, but she was so very grateful to have spent her last three weeks at home surrounded by her family.
The family thanks everyone for their support and encouragement through these very difficult days. Special thanks to Dr. S. White, Dr. E. Moller, Dr. P. Czaykowski, Dr. Sabanathan, and the exceptional nursing staff at the Brandon Regional Health Centre and Western Manitoba Cancer Centre.
In a change to the previously announced service details, there will be a private family service held at Grand Valley Church, after which family and friends are invited to a graveside service at the Sparling Cemetery, PR 468 (Justice Road) on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
