NEUFELD: Lydia, age 91 years, beloved wife of the late Peter Neufeld, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Fairview Home. Lydia’s life began in Eyebrow, SK on September 4, 1929. Her family moved and settled south of Lena, MB and continued farming there. As a young adult, she met Peter Neufeld and they were married June 2, 1951. Eighteen months later, their first son was born. Soon after, they moved to Brandon and built their first and last house. They raised their family of four here, living a normal hard-working life. Church and Sunday School and visiting with friends, family and neighbours were the enjoyable times. Gardening, baking, cooking, canning and sewing were all part of the daily routine. Then the grandkids and great grandkids came along. They brought her so much joy, especially the last few years as those times became more difficult for her, especially when Peter passed away on December 18, 2004. Lydia will be lovingly remembered by her children Bernard (Emily) Neufeld, Marie (Bob) Malo, Joyce (Jay) Woodmass and Darcy (Rona) Neufeld, nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. We will miss her! A private funeral service was held and Lydia was laid to rest next to her husband at Rosewood Memorial Gardens.
