Mabel was predeceased by her husband Harvey in 1994 and son Dallas in 2002.

Born October 24, 1927, Mabel grew up in the White Bank Lea area attending the local country school and later the Oak River School. After her marriage to Harvey, she farmed with her husband in the Oak River area. After many years of farming, they moved to New Westminster, BC. Years later they returned to Rivers to be closer to their family. After her husband passed away, she purchased a home in Monterey Estates, she then moved to Riverheights Terrace before returning to Oak River.

Throughout her life Mabel worked at a variety of businesses enjoying them all. She was a very independent person who was very talented with her hands for such things as sewing, handicrafts, baking and gardening. For many years she would display her talents at the local fairs taking close to 100 entries. Mabel was proud to belong to the Rivers Ladies Auxiliary and received her 55 year pin. She loved spending time with her family and loved playing cards. She would amaze many with a game of crokinole and checkers.

The last three years were enjoyed at her suite at Oakdale Senior Housing in Oak River, close to her daughter and family and her Oak River friends. She will be forever missed.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
