Obituary for Mabel Beatrice Rose Leslie

Mabel Beatrice Rose Leslie (Worth), born November 4, 1934, beloved wife of the late Richard “Dick” Leslie, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, April 27, 2020. Mabel’s life began in the Red River Valley of Manitoba, north of Newdale, in a little prairie home in the valley with 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Through good times and bad that family forged ahead to all create their own family dynastys. Mabel is survived by her children Bruce David Low (Gail), Gordon Richard Low (Kathy), Kim Marie Rudneski (Wayne), her brothers David John (Tracee) and Robert, her step daughters Donna Leslie and Patti Lynch, and 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mabel is predeceased by her husband, Dick, daughter Diane Low, father Phillip Worth, mother Amy Worth (Chudleigh), step mother Rose, brothers Ken and Sid Worth, sisters Rena Syntak and Pearl Graham, and granddaughter Krista Pedlow. Throughout her life Mabel worked at a variety of occupations, primarily focused in the food industry. She finalized her career working for many years as the Food Service Manager for the Dinsdale Personal Care Home, attaining her Certification as a Journeyman Cook on April 9, 1990. Of all the things in this world that were important to Mabel, family topped the list. She took such pride in her family and her greatest pleasure was spending time with them, whether in small intimate settings, or large family gatherings. A small private service is being held by her children. Mabel will join Dick at the Brandon Cemetery. Given the current Covid 19 environment, a Celebration of Life will not be held at this time. However, a Celebration of Life will be held once the environmental situation allows, hopefully by late summer, early fall 2020. A notice will be posted once a time has been set, and it is safe for all to do so. Memorial Donations in the name of Mabel may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

You can only have one mother, Patient kind and true;No other friend in all the world, Will be the same to you. When other friends forsake you, To mother you will return,For all her loving kindness, She asks nothing in return. As we look upon her picture, Sweet memories we recall,Of a face so full of sunshine, And a smile for one and all.Sweet Jesus, take this message, To our dear mother up above;Tell her how we miss her, And give her all our love.
What a difference one single life made.
