MITCHELL: Margaret, of Sokol Manor, Brandon, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre at the age of 101 years. Maggie was born in Bryant, SK and attended school in Benson, SK, where she finished her grade 10. After finishing school, she moved with her brother to Justice, MB to work for Pentlands as their housekeeper. She met and married Stanley Mitchell on March 21, 1942. They lived and farmed on the Mitchell homestead until Dad passed away in March of 1999. She was very active in the Justice community until she moved into Brandon in 1999. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, UCW, the Justice Community Centre and Curling Club. Maggie will be greatly missed by her three children Trevor, Dayle and Noreen; grandchildren Misty, Bruce, Roxanne and Peter; and her numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Maggie was predeceased by her husband Stanley, her parents, three brothers and one sister, parents-in-law and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Funeral service will be held at Memories Chapel, 330 – 18th Street North, Brandon on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a private family burial at Sparling Cemetery. Reception will follow at Monterey Estates Recreation Centre, 40 Mockingbird Drive, Brandon. Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the charity of your choice.
