Obituary for Marianne Doerr (Krueger)

DOERR: Marianne, age 91 years, beloved wife of Ron, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022 in Winnipeg. Marianne was born in Brandon on April 20, 1931 to John and Agnes Krueger. She completed her education at rural schools north and west of Brandon and Winkler Bible College. Marianne then returned to Brandon briefly before moving to Winnipeg where she began working at Winnipeg Supply as an office girl. She did very well there, and Winnipeg Supply provided many free training programs to their employees. Marianne continued her employment with Winnipeg Supply for 17 years with her last role being to control all data going into the computer. When the company changed ownership, Marianne moved to a new job with the Canadian Wheat Board. Marianne then decided to look at other opportunities and became the office manager at the Grain Exchange building; this turned out to be a great job. Marianne married Ron Doerr on March 5, 1977. When Ron suggested she look into volunteering, Marianne began volunteering at the Children’s Hospital and soon moved on to smaller organizations. When Ron sold his business shares in 1990, he joined Marianne in her volunteer work, and they spent many happy years volunteering their time. They also enjoyed their summer cottage. Marianne was a member of Elmwood MB Church for approximately 60 years. Marianne will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ronald F. Doerr and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers Jake, John and Frank. Marianne will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Zion Cemetery. Donations in memory of Marianne may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
