Marilyn Louise Leflar quietly passed away with family members at her side on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre’s Palliative Care Unit at the age of 77 years. Marylin’s passion was working as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. She was a compassionate soul. The Leflar family only comes across people who praise her. On her down time, her trips to the cabin at White Bear Lake were memorable and a great delight for her. She was a loving partner to Wayne and devoted to her sons. Family and friends were paramount and a priority. She belonged to a 25 year tradition called “The Breakfast Club.” Cherished friends would gather and share fellowship on a weekly basis. Finally there were her treasures, the furry family. Marilyn had many cats, dogs, and birds. Marilyn was predeceased by her father Leo, mother Angeline, and brother Don. She is survived by her husband Wayne; sons Darcy (Carol) and grandsons Davis and Rhys, Chilliwack, B.C.; Bruce (Lori-Ann and Jared), Brandon; Scott (Marlene), Brandon; brother Neil (Liz), Calgary, AB and numerous friends and relatives. Honourary grandchildren include: Chantelle and Marie Terese LaRocque, Nadine and Joel Perreau, Layla and Nolan Templeton, Nicholas and Chris Searle and Brooke and Darren Martineau. The Celebration of Life for Marilyn will be announced for the summer of 2020. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Marilyn can be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200 – 17th Street East, Brandon, MB R7A 7M6.
