MYERS: Marlene Cecile, age 81 years, beloved wife of the late Calvin Myers and partner to Don Orr, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre.
Marlene was born on January 28, 1939 in Ketchen, Saskatchewan to Charles and Corrine Morrow. She married Calvin in 1957 and they moved to Belmont until 1959, when they moved to Souris, where they owned and operated the B & B Drive Inn. In 1976, Marlene and Calvin moved their family to Brandon. Marlene received her nursing degree from Assiniboine Community College and worked at the Brandon General Hospital until her retirement. Marlene enjoyed being a local Avon Representative, attending country festivals, tending to her garden and flowers and spending time with her family. Marlene was predeceased by her husband Calvin and son Darcy. She will be lovingly remembered by her partner Don; son Kerry; daughters Jacqueline (Rob) and Kimberly; and grandchildren Robert, Rodney, Raymond, Devon and Logan. The celebration of Marlene’s life was held at Memories Chapel with Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Pallbearers were Derek Graham, Robert Long, Rodney Long, Greg Klier, Tom Kurys and Bradley Myers.
