He then returned to HBM&S to work as a handyman until his retirement in 1992. While living in Flin Flon, Norm was a volunteer firefighter for 25 plus years, as well as a Lions and Fish & Game member. After retirement, Norm and Gail moved to Manitou and later to Brandon for his remaining years; they also wintered in Weslaco, Texas for many years. Norm was an avid hunter, fisherman, curler, and golfer. He enjoyed camping and socializing. Known by many as “Stormin Normin!”, he will be greatly missed by all his family. Norm was predeceased by his step-daughter Brenda Lord and siblings Raymond, Evelyn, Gordon, and Marian. Norm is survived by his loving wife Gail, three sons Russell, Darrell, and Gordon and two stepdaughters Barbara Barker and Lori Truax, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, sister, Merle and brothers, Garry and Chester.
