Obituary for Robert Springer
It is with great sadness that we announce Dr. Robert K. “Bob” Springer (aka Taz), husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, professor and mentor, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022.
He leaves to mourn his loving wife Sharon; children Jennifer (Mark) Hannesson, Toby Springer, Angie (Lyle) Preston and Kelly (Steve) Beaumont; grandchildren Bailey, Matthew, Claire, Benjamin and Lily; and siblings Jack (Leah) Springer, Linda McAmmond and Rick (Kristin) Springer.
Bob was born December 6, 1943 in Guelph, ON. He grew up in Winnipeg, MB and gained the majority of his secondary education in Davis, CA. He moved to Brandon, MB and began his career with Brandon University in the Department of Geology in 1971.
His life was filled with family, friends and students. He thoroughly enjoyed the comradeship that rec hockey and baseball leagues provided.
Bob loved his extensive travels with Sharon, camping and fishing with friends and family, and living life to its fullest. He made friends everywhere he went.
