Roberta was passionate about life and always wanted to live it to the fullest! She was a strong advocate for people with disabilities, joining People First in 1990 and later becoming the president. This role gave Roberta the honor of travelling all across Canada advocating for herself and other individuals and their rights.

Roberta was also proud to sit on The Board of Directors for Brandon Community Options from 1999-2016.

In 2008, Roberta decided it was time to retire and slow down. Still very much involved in community events, Roberta joined Prairie Oasis Senior Centre where she enjoyed playing bingo and poker.

Roberta had many friends that she enjoyed spending time with and attending community events. She also had a standing lunch date and shopping every Friday with her roommates.
