Obituary for Stephen Stanley Zolinski

With great sadness we announce the passing of Stephen Stanley Zolinski, age 66 years, on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Steve was born in Flin Flon, MB on September 10, 1955, the fourth child to Stan and Helen Zolinski. While in Flin Flon, Steve and Wanda met in 1973, and married in 1978. Married for 43 years, they had two children Kari and Terry. In 1986 they moved to Brandon, where they raised their family. Steve started out his career driving semis, then trained as an electrician for a few years, ultimately returning to trucking as an owner/operator, and his love for the open road. While he was an electrician, in 1983, he received the Governor General Award for excellence in his field. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, spending time with his grandchildren, and HayDay. Steve was a jack of all trades and a master of pickles. He was never afraid to let you get him a beer and was the life of the party on the dance floor. Steve will be greatly missed by his wife Wanda, daughter Kari (Ryan) Martin of Revelstoke, BC, son Terry (Ellyn) of Calgary, AB, and grandchildren Logan and Rowan. He is also survived by his sister Susan Klyne, brother Mike (Melanie), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Stan and Helen, and siblings Marsha, Terry, Len and Ron. The Celebration of Steve’s Life was held at Memories Chapel on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Private interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens at a later date. Donations in memory of Steve may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 185 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 2B7.
