Obituary for Theresa Dawne Tremaine

Theresa Dawne Tremaine was born on February 14th (Valentine’s Day), 1972. She was the only daughter of Elaine Tremaine (nee Heide) and the younger sister of Michael Tremaine. She was diagnosed with Epilepsy at the age of 2. Despite the many challenges this gave her, Theresa never let it slow her down or interfere with her enjoyment of life. Theresa was very involved in her church and school communities. She attended CGIT as a child and won several track and field medals for her elementary school. She graduated from Crocus Plains High School, and was employed for a short while with Scotia Bank. After she was unable to continue working due to her epilepsy, she enjoyed spending time at Grey Owl, a day program for people with disabilities.

Theresa’s mother Elaine was her caregiver until she passed away in 2004, since then Theresa was living at Rideau Park Personal Care Home. Her family will always be grateful for the staff there who cared for Theresa with much kindness and compassion; they really made it a home for her.

Everyone who knew Theresa will remember her as a character. She marched to the beat of her own drum and always had a joke or funny story to share. Her brother Michael remembers playing many games of Scrabble and Cribbage with her. Her oldest niece Becky will always cherish the time spent with Theresa listening to Johnny Horton and watching the Price is Right. Her niece Emma enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles with Theresa. Theresa also enjoyed playing Bingo and doing Search a Word puzzles.

Theresa was predeceased by her mother Elaine in 2004. She is survived by her brother Michael (Eileen), three nieces Becky (Nic), Emma (Jeremy), and Kyla, great niece Adelyn, and nephew Matthew. In lieu of flowers please donate to Rideau Park Personal Care Home or a charity of your choice. A private family interment will take place later this year.
