Walter “Lyle” Robertson passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 at his home in Brandon. Born May 25, 1937 on the farm north of Cartwright, Lyle was the youngest child of Myrtle and Roy Robertson, joining siblings Roland, Don and Sarah. Lyle attended school in Cartwright, then began working with Manitoba Hydro at the age of 20 years, retiring 37½ years later in 1994. After retirement, he couldn’t sit still so started work with MillCo Steel for a few years and then did contract work for Elementary Energy Development. Lyle was involved in the United Church, Scouts, Brandon Minor Hockey and Baseball and Ducks Unlimited. His passions were hunting (pretty much everything), fishing, camping, and following his grandsons from rink to rink all winter long cheering on their hockey! Lyle will be lovingly remembered by his wife of almost 65 years, Arlie; son Scott (Christina), grandsons Daylan, Logan, Landan and Tyran; and daughter Lisa, grandsons Dorian and Shae. He was predeceased by his parents Roy and Myrtle Robertson, brothers Roland and Don and sister Sarah. The family will cherish Lyle’s memory privately.
