Obituary for Wilhelmina Cornelia Dittmer

Wilhelmina Cornelia Dittmer. It is with sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, Wilhelmina Dittmer at 2:05 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2020, peacefully in her sleep at Fairview Personal Care Home. Wilhelmina was predeceased by her father Johannes Bal, mother Josephine Devocht and husband Daniel Dittmer. She is survived by her daughter Dorothy Bal, son Ward Dittmer (fiance Maureen Escoto), grandson Mitchell Dittmer, brother Henry (Eleanor) Bal and numerous nieces and nephews. Wilhelmina was born and raised in Brandon, with her primary career of housekeeping and as a cook at Fairview Home. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed knitting, fishing and baking for family and friends. She always had a smart butt comment and shot straight from the hip when it came to saying what she felt. She enjoyed supporting her kids in any way she could, attending all her son’s sports and helping her daughter with projects and biking around the city. Wilhelmina’s last year was lived at Fairview Personal Care Home, enjoying the days walking laps and making friends, watching Family Feud or Northwoods Law or spending time talking to “Sunny”, the third-floor pet Budgie. Thank you to the third-floor staff for all their care, hard work and dedication. Wilhelmina was reunited with her beloved husband, in a private family graveside on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at the Brandon Cemetery, Veteran’s Section. She was a great woman and will be missed by everyone. Goodbye Mom, We Love You.
