Obituary for William John "Bill" Munro

After a courageous battle with cancer, William "Bill" John Munro, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Born in Brandon on May 28, 1963, Bill was raised on the family farm just south of the city. In 1986, the family moved into the city of Brandon after giving up farming. Bill, however, was a true farmer at heart and spent many hours driving the gravel roads of Westman checking the fields and crops. His passion for collecting John Deere replicas, as well as antique vehicle replicas, was a hobby he fostered in Stephen. If they could find one at a garage sale on a Saturday morning, it always made their find all the more rewarding for them. Bill worked at Koch Fertilizer for the last 20 plus years of his life. He was dedicated to his job, even if the temperatures were plus or minus 40 degrees outside. Bill was predeceased by his parents John in 2000 and Gloria in 2006 and his sister Marg in 2007. He is survived by his spouse Juanita; son Stephen; sister Shirley (Jim) Kauk; brothers Ken (Shawna) Munro and Ed Munro; nieces Amber Munro and Jill (Derrick) Stewart; nephews Marty (Stacey) Kauk, Ryker Munro and Aaron Munro; and many great nieces and great nephews. A private funeral service was held at Memories Chapel on September 26, 2022. Donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 185 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or Diabetes Canada, #401 – 1 Wesley Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4C6.
