Roland Paul Joseph passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Roland was born in the community of Laurier on September 2, 1959. He was the eldest son to René and Jeannette Boisvert and the family moved to Brandon when Roland was 11. He continued his education at St. Augustine’s School and then went on to Brandon University where he earned a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Roland started his career with the city of Brandon where he worked for 40 years and was looking forward to retirement. Roland was always an avid sports fan and passed on his love for hockey to his children and grandchildren. He was a longtime season ticket holder with the Brandon Wheat Kings and enjoyed going with his family and visiting with friends once there. Roland was diagnosed with colon cancer in September 2019 and fought with strength and bravery right to the end. He will be lovingly remembered by: his children Justin, Aimee (Danny), and Jarryd (Jenna); grandchildren Rylan, Mikaela, Colsyn, Westyn and Gradyn. He will also be missed by his brother Michel (Susan) and sisters Lynette (Jean, deceased) and Collette (Neil). A private family service will take place at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Friends who wish may make a donation in memory of Roland to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation for Palliative Care, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 2B3 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415 1st Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2W8.

Roland's Family : I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Roland. He was a great guy and enjoyed working with him, at the City of Brandon.
Later I would almost see him daily when he was with the meters on the city streets, and I worked at another company.

I am so sorry to hear the news. Roland was a kind and funny person. We worked together and I looked forward to the days he would stop by our department because he would always take the time to chat and ask how things were going. Outside of work I would run into him at wk games since we had season tickets near to each other. I really hold Roland in high regard because he was always so friendly. My sincere condolences.

We are so sorry to hear of Roland's passing. We have fond memories of shared times at many hockey rinks. We always enjoyed visiting with Roland when we happened to meet up in Brandon. He was always so pleasant and such a nice man! Thinking of his family at this sad time.
