DJ. And family. I wish to express our condolences for your mom. She was one gutsy lady. I met her thirty years ago when she and your dad volunteered with the. City of Brandon hockey tournaments, One trip we were at Oak River together and I could never stay up as late as they could! They sure knew how to have fun! Then thru the years Shirley and Ben lived in our hood and Shirley worked at our credit union. So we had many chats through out the years and she always spoke fondly of her son and grandchildren. I do wish you well and hope the memories are great. Take care of each other. Susan and Will Majcher

Our deepest condolences to DJ & Dayna and Children, Shirley was truly a remarkable woman. We are blessed to be part of your lovely family. Try and take comfort in knowing her battle is done.
We will cherish our memories, of bbq's in the yard, feasts in the garage, and of course the Aquavit!
Her love knew no bounds, she brought joy to all around her. I can just imagine the shenanigans she and Rosie are getting into!

My sincere condolences to Shirley's family. I was sad to read of her passing and it twigged many memories.
I met Shirley through the Brandon Wheat Kings press box group in the 1970's. Ben and my husband spent lots of evenings at the hockey rink and Shirley was a loyal fan of the Wheat Kings. Shirley took me under her wing and a friendship ensued with lots of laughter and fun. Years later I was under her umbrella in the Scouting organization in Brandon when I was a Scouts Canada Beaver leader. Shirley was kind and full of fun. I remember how her eyes would crinkle when she laughed. The Beaver Promise is: "I promise to do my best, to be kind and helpful and to love God" - Shirley was kind and helpful. May she rest in peace.
