Obituary

Our hearts have been shattered as we announce the sudden passing of our dear, loving sister, sister-in-law, auntie, great aunt and cousin, Kimberly Julia Jacobson, of Brandon on December 27, 2020 at the age of 62 years. Left to mourn deeply her very-felt absence are her sister Deb (Roger) Okrainec of Winnipeg, brother Ted Jacobson of Calgary, sister Mary (Angie) Jacobson of Winnipeg, brother Ritchie (Corrine) Jacobson of Brandon; nieces and nephews Chad and Chelsie of Saskatoon, Warren of Burnaby, BC, Jeff of Winnipeg, Jill and Ryan of Brandon, Sarah of Winnipeg, Michael and Mark of Brandon; great nieces and great nephew Emma, Everly, Bennett and Kennedy; as well as her cousins Bill and Michael of Kenora and Sheryl, Garry and other cousins of Las Vegas. Kimmie graduated from high school Salutatorian in 1976. Her bright mind and her amazing creative flair of all things allowed her family and friends to enjoy her being the “cook of all cooks” (her pedeheh and holupchi), there was nothing she couldn’t cook, baker like no other, her incredible talent as an artist/painter, her love of animals (many cats as pets), and nature (she loved going to the Discovery Centre). She also enjoyed growing and nurturing the many flowers, plants and herbs in her little side yard. Her deep, deep love of family was so important to Kim, from immediate to extended, wherever they lived. Whether it was a 2-hour phone call with her long-distance cousins, receiving pictures and videos from her nieces of her great nieces and great nephew, or sharing laughs over jokes sent by her brother-in-law Roger. Probably the biggest part of Kim was her devotion to her church. The friends and families at Bible Baptist Church of Brandon were, without pause, her second family. They literally were there for her anytime she needed help or assistance. Due to Covid restrictions, a private funeral service will be held at Memories Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kim may be made to any animal or no-kill shelter.

Be still, and know that I am God
Casting all your care upon him,
For he careth for you.

These were Kim’s favourite verses.

You’re home now Kim, with Mom & Dad.
